Caboose – Learn to Recognize and Complete Colors Takes Sweden!

Pappa Daniel from Sweden found the iPhone and iPad application Caboose Learn to Recognize and Complete Colors educational and beneficial for children. He contacted @Reks and asked to write a review for his Swedish readers on http://www.pappasappar.se.  Here is what the Swedish reviewer had to say about the app:

Se ett mönster och lista ut vilken del som saknas

Har du någonsin gjort ett IQ-test så förstår du hur den här appen fungerar. Man får upp fem olika delar och skall baserat på det lista ut vilken del som saknas i serien. Man får färdiga svarsalternativ. Men ett IQ-test är egentligen en dålig jämförelse, för den här appen innehåller inte någon sådan bedömning. …

Den här appen känns som en lagom utmaning för små barn. Det jag gillar med appen är att den innehåller så många olika delar, utan att det känns krystat. Fokus är på att lista ut den saknade delen, men samtidigt lär man sig färger, former, bokstäver m.m. Kommer dessutom svensk ljudning så blir det pricken på I:et. Applåderna och appens grafiska utseende gör ”Caboose” barnvänlig och rolig. Det känns inte som om serierna av delar upprepar sig så mycket, vilket nog bidrar till en längre hållbarhet. Möjligtvis hade utvecklaren kunnat haft med något ytterligare belöningsmoment. Och grafiken går att göra snyggare – men det tror jag inte att barn lägger så mycket vikt vid.

”Caboose” passar barn mellan 3 och 6 år. 3 åringar kan nog behöva assistans av vuxen.  Read more …
