Jacksonville City Schools started One to World iPad Initiative in the summer of 2011. The district leadership worked with city leaders and the school system received $228,000
from the City Council to upgrade infrastructure for the Initiative. The Digital Conversion of the Jacksonville City School System is working on making 21st Century instruction engaging and relevant to students. The Digital Conversion Team, made up of representatives from Jacksonville schools and city, have been researching and learning the very best practices in integrating the most appropriate tools into the already strong instructional program of our school system. The IT staff has communicated and worked with Apple engineers on the move from the Apple Configurator platform for managing iPad devices to the new Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP).
The Jacksonville City Board of Education is committed to equipping all students with the appropriate tools in order to further engage each student in a way that instills responsibility as a digital citizen. This approach facilitates an easily monitored yet highly personalized experience that allows learning to take place anytime and anywhere.” For more information, click on www.jcsboe.org/onetoworld
